The semantic of symbols is most often not clearly defined in business process modeling languages, which facilitates misunderstandings between domain experts and modelers. This piece of work presents a method based on control flow patterns to define the control flow semantics of graphical business process modeling languages. In addition, the efficient applicability and general usefulness of the method are demonstrated.
